Mount Entoto Eucalyptus — Woven Tapestry

Mount Entoto, Ethiopia is covered in a dense eucalyptus forest + it has become a tradition of ours to visit it first thing after we arrive. So, for week six of #100daysofphotostofibers, I drew inspiration from this photo I took while in Ethiopia of Mount Entoto’s Eucalyptus forest. At an altitude of over 10,500 feet, the fresh air + eucalyptus scent is the most grounding deep breath after days of travel, not to mention the incredible aerial views of Addis are truly breathtaking.

I set out to create an abstract weave combining multiple textures + hues of eucalyptus, jade, pine, fern, aloe + forest fibers. Incorporating cotton, wool, recycled fibers + corespun squish from other small businesses, this one weave supports six other small businesses around the world!

For #the100dayproject, my original photos will also be available for purchase. If you would like to purchase the print of Mount Entoto, it is available here.

Size: 11”W x 14”H x 1”D

Color: Fern, Pine, Seafoam, Eucalyptus, Jade, Kelp, Aloe, Lagoon, + Grey, on a reclaimed branch

Previously Sold. If you want me to recreate something similar, please contact me.

With every sale, you choose a project you would like to support. My hope is that it would connect you to some incredible work that is being done around the world. Together, we are #knotjustthreads, we are an interwoven tapestry and when we come together, beautiful things can happen.

I have been intentional with the organizations I have chosen to support. I know that it is not only important to know where the money goes, but to know that the work is being done in sustainable ways to produce a long-lasting impact. Having personally partnered with each of these organizations in the field, I have seen how they practice love in action.
