Giraffe - Woven Tapestry
Giraffe — Woven Tapestry
My obsession with giraffes runs deep. They always have a way of reminding me to embrace + celebrate quirks — because aren’t we all just a little bit weird sometimes? Top 10 all time best days of my life, was that one time I saw so many giraffes wild + free in Kenya — my cheeks legitimately hurt from smiling so much! The very existence of giraffes is permission to just be. To let go of any self-consciousness + fully embrace the uniqueness of your very being. So, for week two of #100daysofphotostofibers, I drew inspiration from this photo I took + set out to create a wild+free abstract weave in celebration of the always lovely + always quirky giraffe that never fails to bring a big ol’ smile to my face. Incorporating nineteen different fibers, including botanically dyed + chunky merino wool, there is a physical depth to the woven details.
For #the100dayproject, my original photos will also be available for purchase. If you would like to purchase the print of The Giraffe, it is available here.

With every sale, you choose a project you would like to support. My hope is that it would connect you to some incredible work that is being done around the world. Together, we are #knotjustthreads, we are an interwoven tapestry and when we come together, beautiful things can happen.
I have been intentional with the organizations I have chosen to support. I know that it is not only important to know where the money goes, but to know that the work is being done in sustainable ways to produce a long-lasting impact. Having personally partnered with each of these organizations in the field, I have seen how they practice love in action.
