Leucadia - Woven Tapestry
Leucadia — Woven Tapestry
Grief is like an ocean. It ebbs + flows. It’s wild + unpredictable. It’s depths are fathomless + it cannot be contained. And like the ocean, grief is mysterious .The waves never cease. There is no rule book. There are no patterns. So you just have to learn to swim to survive. But if grief is like the ocean, does that mean there is beauty alongside the mystery? Can it nurture life? Can a thrill of joy come from overcoming the fear of riding the waves?—-I hope so. I’m hellbent on finding out. So, for the weaving of #100moredaysofphotostofibers, I drew inspiration from this photo I took to turn it into fibers during a painfully difficult season as a way to process the grief.
I set out to paint with fiber this breathtaking view by mixing all the vibrant + calming blues, seafoams + neutrals.
For #the100dayproject, my original photos will also be available for purchase. If you would like to purchase the print of Leucadia, it is available here.
Size: 24”W x 25”H
Color: Mist, Sky, Teal, Peacock, Turquoise, Mint, Coastal Blue, Pacific, Sunflower, Citrus, Buttercup, Ivory, Natural + Snow on a dowel

With every sale, you choose a project you would like to support. My hope is that it would connect you to some incredible work that is being done around the world. Together, we are #knotjustthreads, we are an interwoven tapestry and when we come together, beautiful things can happen.
I have been intentional with the organizations I have chosen to support. I know that it is not only important to know where the money goes, but to know that the work is being done in sustainable ways to produce a long-lasting impact. Having personally partnered with each of these organizations in the field, I have seen how they practice love in action.
